MTC GRIMALKIN
The Mount to Coast GRIMALKIN is a single-day ultra event on 30th May 2028 and is new for 2028. It is listed as Day 4 of the MTC SCOTIA nine day end to end series of Scotland. The route runs point to point from Travelodge Perth A9 to Atholl Guest House, Pitlochry, covering about 34 miles with recorded ascent of 3,126 ft and descent of 2,806 ft. This is the first edition.
Competitor numbers are limited to 20 entries plus an additional allowance of 20 for SCOTIA entrants, for a maximum of 40 runners. Entrants must be aged 20 or over on the day of the race. The event is cup free so competitors should use a reusable cup.
The organiser requires a mandatory kit list which includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and blister care, and a waterproof map case. URL will provide a tracking device with SOS functionality and real-time tracking; maps and GPX files are supplied to registered entrants by email about four weeks before the event.
There are preset cut-off points based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. All entry fees are non refundable. Finishers receive a bespoke GRIMALKIN medal and male and female champions receive trophies which are currently in the design stage.
