MTC GRIMALKIN - Ultra Running

MTC GRIMALKIN is an ultra running event on 30th May 2028. It is Day 4 of the Mount to Coast SCOTIA nine day series. The route runs from Travelodge Perth A9 to Atholl Guest House, Pitlochry, with a total distance of 34.5 miles and recorded ascent of 3,126 ft and descent of 2,806 ft.

The race is limited to 20 dedicated entrants plus an allowance of 20 SCOTIA competitors, giving a maximum field of 40. All finishers receive a GRIMALKIN medal and male and female champions receive trophies. Entrants may upgrade at checkout to include an embroidered race shirt and lightweight hi‑viz jacket. Entry fees are listed for standard and plus packages and are non refundable; an optional personal cancellation insurance and a defer option are available at booking.

Organisers set preset cut‑off times and a minimum average speed of 4 mph; falling below the minimum can lead to withdrawal. Checkpoints are at Bankfoot, Dunkeld and Pitlochry, with checkpoint food such as malt loaf, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water. The event is cup free so competitors must provide a reusable cup.

Maps and GPX files are supplied to entrants by email four weeks before the event. Competitors are issued with a tracking device that includes an SOS function. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch and spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
