About the race
The Mounties Miler is a continuous endurance challenge of 100 miles (160 km) held on the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail at Mount Helena. Participants complete a 5 km lap on the hour, every hour, for 32 consecutive hours, totalling 160 km. The event includes distinct day and night course loops designed for visibility and safety. Registration options include individual solo entries (complete all 32 hours), team entries of up to four people completing the full distance collectively, single 5 km laps, and community group entries for schools, emergency services and other groups.
All participants who join each hour must check in and out at the Control Point (Base Camp) at the start and end of every lap; the Base Camp provides first aid, hydration, nutrition and safety coordination. Night-time participants completing the full event are required to wear a headlamp and carry a mobile phone. Organisers run fatigue management and check-in procedures, night lighting and visible course markers, and encourage paired overnight participation for safety. Limited parking is available near the start; street parking is a short walk from the event site.
Proceeds support ROAR Inc programs that use physical activity and high-performance mindset strategies to improve students’ resilience, confidence, self-esteem and mental wellbeing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
