Montagu Boomerang MTB Relay and Trail Running
The Montagu Boomerang event is an MTB relay and trail running day held at Hoërskool Montagu Sportsground - Boomera in Montagu, Western Cape on 19 September 2026. The event is organised by Hoërskool Montagu and the HSM Supporters Club and uses local MTB and trail route networks maintained by Montagu Trails.
Mountain bike competition is a boomerang-style relay for teams of two, where teams complete repeated loops and record as many laps as possible within their allocated time category. The MTB routes include shorter and longer loop options and use sections of the Absa Cape Epic trail network.
Trail running offers single-track routes with water points and views across forest and veld. Runners can choose between shorter and longer trail distances on flowing trails with marked routes and race support.
Participants in all classes receive a commemorative medal. Various prize categories are listed and the entry fee for listed classes includes a beef burger and access to water points. The venue includes food, entertainment and family-friendly activities on the day. Team entries are supported for specified classes and teams must consist of two participants.
