Montagu Boomerang MTB Relay and Trail Running
The event is an inaugural MTB boomerang relay and trail running day held at Hoërskool Montagu Sportsground - Boomera in Montagu, Western Cape. It is organised by Hoërskool Montagu Ondersteunersklub and uses local MTB and trail routes maintained by Montagu Trails, including sections that run on Absa Cape Epic trails.
There are mountain bike relay classes and trail running options. MTB entries are team events with two riders per team. Teams ride a loop and complete as many laps as possible within their allocated time category; loop lengths listed for classes include 2.3 km and 5 km and time allocations include 60 minutes and 90 minutes for the listed classes.
Trail running offers single-track routes with two distances:
- 5 km short trail with walkers welcome.
- 10 km long trail through forest and veld.
All participants receive a commemorative medal and have access to water points. Entry fees listed for classes include a post-race beef burger. The programme includes prize categories and a prize giving on the event day. Routes are part of the wider Montagu MTB and trail network and referenced Strava routes are provided for the MTB and trail courses.
The venue address is 2 Kohler St, Montagu, 6720, South Africa, at Hoërskool Montagu Sportsground - Boomera. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
