Monster of Mazinaw Trail Race 2026
The Monster of Mazinaw Trail Race takes place at Bon Echo Provincial Park in Cloyne, Ontario on September 19, 2026. The event offers trail races over varied distances on routes that include wide groomed trails, technical rocky single track, roots, steep ascents and descents, and back-country sections with limited access.

- 43 km ultramarathon
- 30 km
- 10 km (course may measure closer to 11 km)
Large sections of the 30 km and 43 km routes run on back-country trails that can be very rocky and slippery when wet. Runners should expect self-reliant sections of roughly 12–14 km without aid and stretches where aid stations may be up to 17 km apart. Aid stations provide water, an electrolyte drink, peanut butter and jam, and sweet and salty snacks; the event is cup-less so participants must carry a collapsible cup or bottle.
The race is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Organizers share GPX files from a previous edition and note the 2026 course will be slightly different while remaining similar in route, elevation, and terrain. Race fees include a tee, race bib, a custom finisher's medal for finishers, and aid-station food and drinks. Park admission is not included in the race fee. Entry is limited to 250 participants.
The park setting includes Mazinaw Rock, a 100 metre cliff with 260 pictographs and recognized as a National Historic Site, and local wildlife such as moose, black bear, and the endangered five-lined skink. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
