Monarch Migration Run
The Monarch Migration Run is the inaugural running event held at Ruby Grant Park in Norman on September 27, 2026. The event is presented as part of the annual Monarchs in the Park celebration and recognizes Ruby Grant Park as a stopover habitat for monarch butterflies during their fall migration.
Two course options are offered:
- 5K Monarch Migration 5K
- 1 Mile Caterpillar Crawl Fun Run
Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes September 6, 2026. Registration fees listed for the entry options are $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 mile fun run. The 5K includes a timing tag for timed results.
Race participants receive a custom monarch themed race medal, a custom monarch themed bib with timing tag for 5K entrants, and a custom color changing tote included with registration. Entrance to the Annual Monarchs in the Park celebration is included with race registration. The course is described as a scenic trail and the event will feature monarch themed touches. Raising Cains Norman will be on site handing out tea and lemonade.
The event appears on the Norman Race Series calendar but will not count toward the series awards presented at the Christmas 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
