Little Rooster Run
Organized by Ridge Runners Racing INC, the 2nd annual Little Rooster Run is scheduled for October 14-19, 2027 at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds and Park in Glencoe, Kentucky. The event site address is 4476 US-127, Glencoe, KY 41046.
Distances included in the event:
- 800 m Kids Fun Run for ages 9 and under
- 5K Trail race
- 100 miles Mini Barnyard Ultra last runner standing format
The Little Rooster Kids Fun Run uses a mostly grass cross country style course with the paved walking path at the front of the facility. Registered children receive an event shirt and a participation award at the finish line. Family and friends may accompany runners free of charge, and the overall first place boy and girl will be recognized at the awards stage.
The 5K Trail race is scheduled before the ultra and encourages spectators to remain for the ultra that follows. Headlamps and appropriate weather gear are recommended for 5K participants. All 5K registrants receive an event shirt and finishers receive a 3D printed medal. Awards recognize top overall finishers and age group winners; only registered 5K runners are permitted on the course during the race.
The Mini Barnyard Ultra runs on a 2.083 mile lap completed on a half hour schedule until one runner remains. That final runner must complete a victory lap within the 30 minute limit to be declared the winner. Headlamps are required for the ultra, trekking poles are optional, and all entrants receive an event shirt at check in and a participant medal when their race ends. An awards ceremony for the ultra winner takes place at the awards stage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
