Midwest OCR : Marseilles, IL
Midwest OCR takes place on 19 September 2026 at The Cliffs Insane Terrain Off-Road Park, 2681 US-6, Marseilles, IL 61341. The event includes multiple obstacle-course and ruck options across rugged terrain with hills, cliffs, ravines, creeks and wooded trails. Obstacles vary in difficulty and are laid out across 5K and 10K loops.
Distances and formats
- 10K (6.2 miles) - 30+ obstacles, competitive and open divisions
- 5K (3.1 miles) - 20+ obstacles, open Fun Run option
- Ruck - 5K or 10K with crawls and carries required
- Kid’s Course - 0.25–0.5 mile loop with 10+ obstacles for ages 11 and under
Competitive rules and awards are specified for the 10K elite division, which requires successful completion of all obstacles to be eligible for podium placement; racers have multiple attempts at obstacles and still receive finisher rewards if not podium eligible. The Bearded Challenge is a multi-lap option of the 10K loop where additional laps attach extra medal pieces; podium eligibility requires completing all obstacles through at least two laps.
Ruck participants bring their own ruck and weights; recommended weights are 20 lbs for women and 30 lbs for men. Ruck finishers receive a ruck patch plus medal and shirt.
Volunteers can earn a free race entry by completing qualifying shifts: one 6-hour race day shift or two 5-hour build-week shifts. General parking is at 4 Star Campground, 2776 E 2625th Rd Unit 2048, Marseilles, IL with a cash fee of $10; a shuttle runs between parking and the venue. VIP on-site parking is prepaid only, limited and priced at $25.
