Melrose Running Festival

The Melrose Running Festival is a trail running event held at Mt. Remarkable National Park in the Southern Flinders Ranges on July 24, 2027. The festival offers multiple trail distances and race formats across the park, with medals awarded to finishers in each distance.
Distances offered include:
- 50 km ultra
- 30 km trail run
- 15 km trail run
The 2027 program introduces a two-person relay option incorporated into the 50 km course, with each team member running a 25 km leg between Wilmington, Mambray Creek and Melrose. Organisers require qualifying evidence for entry to the 50 km ultra to confirm runner experience for the course; entrants who do not meet qualifying requirements may be eligible for a refund or to move to a shorter distance under the event policy.
Race pack collection and a pre-race dinner take place the evening before at the North Star Hotel in Melrose, with limited seating and priority for longer-distance entrants if capacity is reached. Medal presentations and an after-party are scheduled at Jacka Brothers Brewery on the race evening, where top three male and female finishers in each distance will be recognised.
