McKaig 5K Trail Race
The event is a community race day at McKaig Nature Center in Wayne, PA, held on the nature center property at 889 Croton Road. The main race is a trail 5K with professional chip timing and real time results provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Company. The 5K entry fee is $35 with a field limited to the first 125 registered runners.
The festival area includes music, post-race food and beverages, and vendors. A chili cook-off will take place in the festival area; tasting is free for registered racers and costs $5 for non-racers. The Monkey Rock Miler returns as a one-mile walking event where leashed dogs are welcome. A free kids race is offered with short course options for younger children and a longer kids course that includes a short trail section for older children.
Registered participants who sign up by September 28 receive an event T-shirt. Awards include top three male and female overall and top three male and female in age groups: under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Event proceeds support nature education programs and the maintenance and preservation of the nearly 100 acre nature center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
