McCoy Strong Challenge : Ocilla, GA
The McCoy Strong Challenge is a community fundraising event at the Shoppes at Fourth and Cherry in Ocilla, Georgia. The event raises funds to support a local family whose child is undergoing treatment for brain cancer. Activities on site include obstacle courses, sponsor booths, food, and a silent auction. Proceeds from registrations, sponsorships, donations, and event activities go directly to the family to help with medical expenses and ongoing needs.
The event offers three course options:
- McCoy Strong 5K Obstacle Challenge: Approximately 3.1 miles with about 20 obstacles.
- Strong Mile Obstacle Course: Approximately 1 mile with 10 obstacles.
- Lil McCoy Strong Kids Course: Approximately 1/4 mile with five kid-friendly obstacles for ages 12 and under.
Awards are given to the top finishers in the 5K Obstacle Challenge and the Strong Mile Obstacle Course, with placements for male and female competitors. Every child who completes the kids course receives a finisher medal. Registration fees listed for the courses are $45 for the 5K, $45 for the mile, and $35 for the kids course. Free parking is available and participants must complete a waiver before participating; minors require a guardian signature. Recommended items include closed-toe athletic shoes, clothing suitable for getting dirty, a water bottle, and payment for the silent auction or optional donations.
