Marxa del Garraf
The Marxa del Garraf is an endurance walking event that in 2026 reaches its 31st edition. It is held on 8 November 2026 with departure and arrival in Plaça de Jaume Balmes in Gavà. The route links the Garraf massif and the sea, descending to the village of Garraf at one point.
The main route covers 46 km with a positive ascent of +1,360 m and a total accumulated ascent of 2,720 m. A shorter track is also recorded by the organisers. The event is part of the 2026 Circuit Català de Caminades de Resistència and has been included in that calendar since the circuit began; the first edition of the Marxa del Garraf took place in 1995.
The walk is described by the organisers as a demanding test rather than a casual stroll. Volunteers, about 125 in number, staff control points and aid stations. All aid stations provide water and food, and the first aid station is located at about 10 kilometres from the start. The route is marked with tapes, vertical signs and flour arrows. Participants are reminded that the itinerary crosses a natural area and must be respected.
