Marquette Trail 50 : event overview
The Marquette Trail 50 is a trail running event in Marquette that offers multiple distance options and uses local trail networks. The 2027 race dates are scheduled for August 20 and 21, 2027.
Distances
- 50K
- 50 Mile
- 1 Mile (kids race, ages 12 and under)
The course is marked with orange flags and ribbon; markers are frequent and extra signage is added at intersections. Runners are asked not to go off trail and to backtrack if they think they missed a turn. Aid stations are stocked with water, sports drink, soda, energy gels, fruit, cookies, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pretzels, potato chips, granola bars, and candy. The event is cupless, so participants must carry a bottle, cup, or hydration system to refill at aid stations.
Packet pickup is available on the day before the race with a very limited pickup option on race morning; ID is required and runners must pick up their own bib. Parking at Forestville Trailhead is limited; preference is given to vehicles with two or more racers and some parking is located a short walk from the start. The event is run entirely by volunteers, and proceeds support the trail organizations the course traverses as well as some local cross country teams.
