Margaret River Ultra Marathon
The Margaret River Ultra Marathon is a trail running event in the Margaret River region of Western Australia scheduled for 8–9 May 2027. Entry applications for 2027 (solo and teams) will open in early November 2026; further details about the entry process will be announced closer to that time.
The course runs through a variety of coastal and forest landscapes, including towering Karri forests, cliff-top trails with coastal views, granite domes, and white sandy beaches along the Cape to Cape coastline. Event options include:
- 80 km ultra marathon solo or in relay teams of 2 to 5 runners
- 42 km trail marathon solo
- 2 km kids race
Start and finish locations vary by distance: the 80 km route is Hamelin Bay to Howard Park, the 42 km marathon is Yallingup to Howard Park, and the kids race is at Howard Park. The event applies strict field limits: the 80 km ultra accepts up to 450 solo runners and 250 relay teams, while the 42 km marathon accepts up to 400 solo runners.
