Marathon du Beaujolais AG2R LA MONDIALE
The Marathon du Beaujolais AG2R LA MONDIALE is a two-day running festival held in the Beaujolais region; the 2026 edition is the 22nd. The event gathers a large international field: past editions recorded about 33 000 participants from 98 nationalities. The organisation promotes eco-responsible practices and a solidarity programme through the Beaujolais Marathon Foundation, which will donate more than €200 000 to the fight against cancer in 2026.
The event includes several races and participatory formats:
- Marathon
- Semi-Marathon
- 13 km du Rhône
- Trails
- Family Marathon
- Rando Solidaire
The 13 km du Rhône is the event’s most popular, described as festive and slightly hilly (D+129 / D-134). It is a loop on road with three refreshment points and numerous on-course animations; about 82% of participants run in costume. The 13 km finishes on Boulevard Jean Jaurès in Villefranche-sur-Saône and has a 3-hour time limit. Centre Léon Bérard offers associative bibs exclusively for the 13 km and the semi-marathon to support cancer research; participants who choose these bibs must pay registration fees and commit to fundraising at least €10 per kilometre.
