Marathon du Mont-Blanc
The Marathon du Mont-Blanc is a trail running event organized by the Club des Sports de Chamonix, a non-profit association. The event takes place in the Mont-Blanc massif, with courses utilizing the trails around Chamonix. Each year, approximately 10,000 runners participate across various distances.
The event features eight distinct races:
- 90km du Mont-Blanc
- 42km du Mont-Blanc
- 23km du Mont-Blanc
- 10km du Mont-Blanc
- Duo Étoilé
- KM Vertical
- The Young Race
- Mini Cross (distances of 800m, 2km, and 3km)
The event village, known as the Trail Camp, is located at Place du Mont-Blanc in Chamonix. This area hosts the Marathon du Mont-Blanc trade show. Race starts and finishes are distributed across several locations, including Place du Triangle de l'Amitié, the Aire des parapentes, and Planpraz. Bib collection is organized by appointment at the salle EMC2.
Practical services provided for participants include aid stations, a roadbook, and local transportation information for Chamonix. The event also supports charitable causes through "dossards solidaires" (charity bibs) benefiting organizations such as Vaincre les Maladies Lysosomales.
