Phoenix Running - Manchester - The Cosmic Challenge - Aries

Phoenix Running presents The Cosmic Challenge - Aries on Saturday 10 April 2027 at Hardy Farm, M21 8FE, along the River Mersey at Chorlton Water Park. The event is part of a monthly series running April 2027 to March 2028. Each month features a bespoke two sided spinning Sun Sign medal; each event in the series is separate.

The format is a 7 hour chip timed challenge where participants choose how many laps to complete on a riverside towpath. Completing one lap qualifies as a finisher. The minimum lap distance is 2.91 miles, and entrants may complete as many laps as they can within the seven hour period. The course is off road on a flat, fast towpath.

On course support includes a vegetarian aid station with vegan and gluten free options such as bananas, dates, jelly sweets, crisps, cake, squash and cola. The organiser warns that anyone with severe allergies should bring their own food as cross contamination cannot be ruled out. Toilets and changing rooms are available at Race HQ.

Parking is limited to 75 spaces at Hardy Farm on a first come, first served basis; there are a further 100 spaces at Sale Water Park about a 15 minute walk away, plus public paid parking nearby. A race brief is provided one week before the event and is mandatory reading. Entry fees are listed as £40.00 affiliated and £42.00 unaffiliated. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under under UK Athletics rules; refer to the event terms and conditions for details. Virtual entries receive the event medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
