MammothMarch Kentucky
MammothMarch Kentucky is a 20 mile single loop hike held on May 8, 2027, in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. The start and finish are at Nickell Branch Recreation Area in Grand Rivers, Kentucky, and the route runs along the north end of the recreation area.
The trail covers mainly unpaved hiking paths, dirt trails, gravel roads and forest floor with a total elevation gain of around 1,600 ft. The final route will be provided approximately two weeks before the event. Participants choose staggered start slots with small group starts; a maximum of five hikers will cross the starting line together. There is no official timekeeping for the event; completion under the event guidelines qualifies participants for a finisher medal. Personalized finish certificates are issued to finishers, and partial certificates noting mileage covered are available for those who stop early. There will be safety cut-off times at aid stations.
Aid and refreshment stations are positioned roughly every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets plus food and drinks such as water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruit, cereal and protein bars, and PBJ sandwiches. Complimentary on-site parking is available. Merchandise options include items ordered for pickup at the event store and items purchased from the official online shop which are shipped to buyers.
