MammothMarch Illinois 2027

MammothMarch Illinois is a single-circuit, 20-mile hike through Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area near Chandlerville, IL, held on May 15, 2027. The route loops mainly around Drake Lake and Prairie Lake, covers approximately 20 miles with about 850 ft of elevation gain, and follows a mix of paved sections, unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads and forest floor.

There is no official race timing; participants who complete the distance receive a finisher medal and a personalized certificate. Participants who stop early receive a certificate stating the mileage they covered. Water stops and aid stations are located approximately every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food and drinks; refreshments listed for stations include water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruits, cereal or protein bars and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Parking is complimentary on site. Lodging and accommodation details will be provided later. MammothMarch Hiking Passes will be available for new participants and returning participants may use their existing passes to collect 2027 stamps. Merchandise ordered through the event store will be available for pick up on event day, while items ordered from the official online shop are shipped.
