Malibu Canyon Trail Races
The Malibu Canyon Trail Races take place in Malibu Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains, Malibu, CA. The event offers five courses that run on a mix of singletrack and fire road; routes are well marked. Course maps and elevation profiles are provided.
Distances and course statistics include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): 2,204 ft gain; high point 1,026 ft.
- 30K (18.7 miles): 2,509 ft gain; high point 1,026 ft.
- 50K (32 miles): 4,658 ft gain; high point 1,236 ft.
- 50 Mile (48.8 miles): 8,740 ft gain; high point 2,992 ft.
- 100K (61.1 miles): 10,446 ft gain; high point 2,992 ft.
The courses traverse park terrain within the Santa Monica Mountains and use both singletrack and wider fire road sections. Elevation gain varies widely between distances, with total ascent ranging from a few thousand feet to over ten thousand feet on the longest course.
