Mactaquac Trail Race 2026
The Mactaquac Trail Race takes place in Mactaquac Provincial Park over the weekend of October 3 and 4, 2026. The event uses a variety of trails, including single and double track. The course is not very hilly but is hardly ever flat; runners cross a stream twice and several bridges. Trails can be slippery and have exposed roots.
Distances offered
- 5K new Saturday race, manual timing and limited food
- 10K one loop on Sunday
- 20K two loops on Sunday
A free kids run is scheduled on Saturday with on-site registration at the small parking lot next to the Beaver Pond. The new 5K on Saturday includes awards for the top three male and female finishers and a lower entry fee than the Sunday events. The 5K does not use electronic timing.
Registration is online only and closes on Thursday, October 2 at 8:00 PM; there is no race-day registration. There are no refunds or deferrals, and there will not be a waiting list if the race sells out. When the race reaches capacity a short transfer period will open.
The event aims to reduce waste by operating nearly cup-less water stations; participants should bring their own cup, bottle, or hydration system. Massage therapy students from Eastern College provide post-race massages on Sunday. A bag drop is available. After the Sunday races there will be food, drink, awards, and draw prizes.
