Mactaquac Night-O : November 7, 2026
This is a night orienteering Score-O held at Mactaquac Provincial Park. The event uses reflective control markers and is run as a mass start. One course is offered with a 90-minute time limit. Controls can be visited in any order; most are placed in easy-to-find locations and a few are hidden off-trail. Harder controls may carry more points.
Points are awarded for each control found based on difficulty or distance from the start area. Penalty points are deducted for returning after the time limit. The aim is to collect as many controls as possible within the time limit; visiting every control is not required.
Pre-registration is required to allow organizers to prepare materials. Registration information should include names and birth years for insurance, an optional team name, club or organization, the Score-O course selection, and a SportIdent serial number if available. Organizers request that attendees print and pre-fill the ONB Event Registration Form and complete the annual waiver (online or paper) and submit them as requested.
Meet fees follow ONB standard fees: $10 per person (adult or junior) with a family maximum of $30. Fees are collected at the meet site or by Interac e-Transfer. Essential equipment includes a working light source (bring two), a watch or other time source, a compass and a whistle. Dress for the weather and expect to get a little dirty; consider a change of clothes and footwear.
Directions note entry from Hwy 105 at the main park entrance and parking adjacent to the campground registration building, with signs to ONB registration at the kitchen shelter inside the campground. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
