Lüneburg Trail Run : Lüneburg, KwaZulu-Natal
The Lüneburg Trail Run is a trail running event held around Ncaga Mountain with races based at the Lüneburg church (Peter-Paul Gemeinde Lüneburg, coordinates 27.314°S 30.619°E). The terrain includes steep climbs to Ncaga summit, rolling highland cattle paths, jeep tracks, farm roads, a rocky technical ridge known as the "dragon’s back", and an old tar road for the final section.

65 km specific details: the course is unmarked and requires each runner to carry a GPS device with the supplied route loaded and to navigate independently through remote and technical mountain terrain. There are five aid stations at approximate distances of 9 km, 20 km, 32 km, 42 km and 52 km; these provide water and some nutrition. Streams along the route offer additional refill opportunities. The event enforces cut-off limits for each race distance; for example the 65 km race has a 16 hour overall cut-off and staged aid station cut-offs.
Compulsory gear is required for safety. Missing compulsory items such as a visible race number, GPS device, headlamp, charged phone, waterproof jacket, or basic thermal clothing results in time penalties ranging from 10 to 30 minutes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
