LSD Back Yard Ultra
LSD Back Yard Ultra is an official backyard ultra held at West Benridge Farm, Morpeth NE61 3RZ, set in the Northumbrian countryside. The event follows the globally recognised backyard-ultra format made famous by Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra: one loop every hour on the hour.
Runners must complete the 4.167 mile loop within the hour to earn a place on the next start line. Failure to finish in time or choosing to stop ends an individual’s race; the event continues until one runner remains and is named Last Standing.
The course combines farm track, trail and woodland. The route is described as runnable but becomes more demanding as hours accumulate.
The event also includes a festival-style headquarters and athlete village at the central hub. Facilities and offerings reported at previous editions include live DJ sets in a barn, food vendors, hot drinks and coffee, toilets, space for camping and spectator camping, and a stocked aid station. The atmosphere is structured to support runners, crews and spectators as the field reduces through the day and into the night.
Special entry offers for 2027 include complimentary places for winners of a Backyard Ultra in the last two years and a 50% entry discount for runners who completed 30 yards or more at a previous Backyard Ultra, subject to proof of result.
