Longest Day 5K at Camp Talooli
The Longest Day 5K takes place at Camp Talooli in Pennellville, New York, on June 21, 2027. The event uses camp grounds and nearby trails and roads, with the course starting and finishing at Nokomis Lodge, a hillside lodge that overlooks the lake.
The course begins with about 1.5 miles of single track trail through forest, followed by a short climb back to Nokomis Lodge. Runners then continue onto a three quarter mile stretch of country roads before returning to Camp Talooli on the Oswego Recreation Trail. Walkers are also welcome.
Camp Talooli is a lakeside summer camp in the woods north of Syracuse that has offered nature based programs and overnight and day camp experiences for over 70 years. Registration proceeds will help fund a week at camp for at least one child. Each participant receives a t shirt and a set of Camp Talooli / Longest Day 5K dog tags at the finish. After the run, food options include popsicles, cookies, marshmallows toasted over a campfire, and slices of the camp meal called the mega dog.
