Live Oak Ultra
Live Oak Ultra is a supported running event organized by Rougarou Running in Biloxi, MS. The event offers two distances:
- 50K
- Half-Marathon
The 50K route runs through Biloxi and Ocean Springs and passes local landmarks such as the Biloxi Lighthouse, the beach boardwalk, the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge, Front and East Beaches, and part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park. The course returns to downtown Biloxi with finish activities at Altered Reality Brewing.
Course navigation is aided by GPX course files for both distances, pocket-sized turn cards at check in, and neon tape marking turns. The route is described as urban with relatively low traffic; runners should still pay attention to navigation because not all turns are signed.
There are approximately six aid locations offering water, Hammer Nutrition products (Heed and gels), fruit, and snacks, with some unmanned water-only stations. Ainsley Angels will staff a full station and Rougarou Running supports that organization; additional donations are accepted. Drop bags are allowed at stations 2/5, 3, and 4. Public facilities and portable restrooms are available at some points on the course.
The event uses Ultrasignup app timing and provides awards for finishers and top placings, including age-division awards for the 50K. The organizer offers a refund policy allowing a full refund up to 14 days before the event, with taxes and platform fees excluded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
