The 24 Hour Lions Roar
The 24 Hour Lions Roar takes place April 16 and 17, 2027, at Gans Creek Recreation Area in Columbia, Missouri. The event offers multiple timed races with individual and team entries across day and night.
Distances and formats include:
- 24 hour Tag Team Championship and solo 24 hour event
- 12 hour solo event
- 6 hour solo event
- 1 hour Cub Run on a 0.25 mile loop for youth
The main course is a 2.5 mile loop that incorporates the D1 NCAA Cross Country Championship Course and adjacent soccer fields. The loop is well groomed and includes some elevation, supporting lap-based pacing for runners and relay teams. The Cub Run uses a short 0.25 mile loop designed for younger participants.
Awards and recognition are offered across categories. Solo awards include the top two male and female finishers in the 6, 12, and 24 hour solo events. There are All-Time Mileage Awards for the top ten overall leaders. Tag Team Champions receive a custom championship belt, and milestone swag includes a custom belt buckle for completing 100 miles in 24 hours. A commemorative t-shirt is provided to participants; to guarantee a t-shirt in a specific size, registration must be completed by April 1. Registration closes April 11 at 11:59 PM CT.
