The 24 Hour Lions Roar is an endurance running event held at the Gans Creek Recreation Area in Columbia, Missouri. The competition takes place on a national renowned cross country course and features several timed race options for individuals and teams. Participants navigate a loop-based course designed to support consistent pacing during both daytime and nighttime hours.

Course Details

The primary route is a 2.5-mile loop that combines elements of a D1 NCAA Cross Country Championship Course with adjacent soccer fields. The terrain is described as well-groomed and easy to navigate, with moderate elevation changes throughout the circuit. For younger participants, a separate 0.25-mile loop is utilized.

Recognition and Milestones

The event recognizes performance through various awards and mementos. Runners who complete 100 miles within the 24-hour period receive a custom belt buckle. In the 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour solo categories, awards are presented to the top two male and female finishers. Members of the winning team in the Tag Team Championship receive custom championship belts.
