Lincoln Memorial Garden Trail Race 8K
The Lincoln Memorial Garden Trail Race and Kids Fun Run take place on May 22, 2027, at Lincoln Memorial Garden, 2301 East Lake Shore Drive, Springfield, Illinois. The 8K course is entirely within the Garden and passes along trails next to Lake Springfield and through the Ostermeier Prairie Center grounds.

The 8K course is a no-spike course with a start/finish area on sidewalk and porous pavement. Much of the route uses wood-chipped trails, fine-chip gravel, and grass, with several wood-plank bridges and a short gravel driveway. Packet pickup is available at the Springfield Running Center, 2943 W. White Oaks Drive, and there is race-day packet pickup at Lincoln Memorial Garden.
Online registration opens February 1, 2027. Early 8K registration is $32; the regular 8K price is $37 after April 6, 2027. Kids Fun Run registration is $10. The 8K is limited to 300 participants; the Kids Fun Run has no participant limit. Registrations must be completed on a personal device; there is no manual on-site registration.
Each 8K participant receives a shirt and a wooden medallion; food and drinks are provided after the race. Kids receive a t-shirt and a finishing medal. Awards include winning man, woman, and non-binary finishers, masters winners (40 and over), and top age-group finishers; winners also receive a $50 gift card to the Springfield Running Center. Registrants who select "Prefer not to say" are not eligible for awards.
No rain date is scheduled and no refunds are available. A voluntary donation option supports equipment and shade projects within the Garden. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
