Leatherwood Marathons
Leatherwood Marathons is a trail ultramarathon event on April 3, 2027, in Ferguson, NC, hosted by Dirty Wolf Racing. The courses use private trails in the Leatherwood Mountains and consist of looped routes with substantial elevation gain.
Distances and recorded total elevation gain:
- 100 Miles : 106.97 miles, 25,145 ft elevation gain
- 100K : 64.15 miles, 15,095 ft elevation gain
- 50 Mile : 53.15 miles, 11,944 ft elevation gain
- 50K : 32.1 miles, 6,989 ft elevation gain
- 25K : 16.35 miles, 3,235 ft elevation gain
Aid stations are stocked with water, Tailwind, soda, candy, bacon, fruit, pickles, salt, and basic first aid. The 100-mile course has a 36-hour cutoff. Handmade pottery medals and race swag are provided to finishers. Results are posted on UltraSignup and event photos are released about one week after the event.
Registration closes on Tuesday, March 30 at 11:59 PM ET. On-site accommodations are available nearby, including cabins at Leatherwood Mountains Cabins and a Creekside Campground with tent and RV sites, electrical hookups, and shower and bathroom facilities; campsites are limited.
