Leaky Hourglass Ultra - Last Man Standing
Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a Last Man Standing event held on August 28, 2027 in Half Way, Missouri, at 2055 Hwy Z. The format uses repeated laps on the same route; each lap is a 4.167 mile out and back and the cutoff time decreases by one minute after every completed lap. The first lap has a 60 minute cutoff, the next lap 59 minutes, and so on until only one runner completes a lap within the allotted time.
The course is a chip and sealed rural highway with rolling hills and roughly 250 feet of elevation gain per lap. The route is not closed to traffic; runners should face traffic while running. After sunset runners are required to carry a headlamp and a flasher.
There are two aid stations. A manned start and finish aid station offers Tailwind endurance fuel, water, chips, pickles, candy bars, and other hot and cold options. An unmanned turnaround aid station provides Tailwind fuel, water, and prepackaged snacks.
Logistics include on site primitive camping for Friday and Saturday night and proximity to hotels about 20 miles south in Springfield, Missouri. Packet pickup is available on the day before and the morning of the event. Entry is listed at 116.49 USD. The event organizer does not issue refunds; bib transfers are allowed per the organizer's stated deadline.
