Lastest Not Fastest
Lastest Not Fastest is a last person standing trail race held on Hamilton Island in the Columbia River Gorge, Washington, on October 2, 2027. The course is a single loop of 4.13 miles with about 103 feet of elevation gain that runs alongside the Columbia River, through a forested section near the Bonneville Dam, past historical markers, and across a short road crossing before returning to the river-adjacent finish area.
Runners must start each loop on the hour and complete the loop in less than 60 minutes to remain in the race. Each loop begins and ends at the same start/finish area; leaving the course during an hour ends a runner’s race. Participants may carry aid with them and may pause on the course, but they must remain on the route while doing so.
There is one aid station at the start/finish area stocked with electrolyte drink, water, gels, snacks, and nighttime broths and hot food later in the day. The location provides space for crews to set up in designated parking areas; crew access to runners is not allowed while runners are on the course.
Registration fees tier from $170 to $225 depending on registration date; registration opens April 1. No transfers and no refunds; cancellations more than 30 days before the race receive a 50% credit toward a future race, otherwise no credit. All participant distances are posted to Ultrasignup; a DNF is recorded only if the first lap is not completed. The overall winner receives sponsor prizes; other finishers receive a DNF glass.
