Event Overview
The Last One Standing at Bradley is a trail race held at Smith Ranch in Bradley, California. This event follows a specific endurance format where participants run a 4.18 mile loop every hour. The competition continues until only one runner remains capable of completing a loop within the designated time frame.
Race Format and Rules
Participants have exactly one hour to finish the loop. If a runner completes the loop within the hour, they must be back in the start corral when the next hour begins to stay in the competition. Whistle warnings are given at three minutes, two minutes, and one minute before each start. Failure to be in the corral at the start of the hour results in disqualification.
The event rules specify:
- Participants must be self-sufficient on the course; no aid stations are located on the loop.
- Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are prohibited.
- Non-competitor pacers are not allowed on the course.
- Runners may have a crew of up to two people at the designated pit stop area.
- No aid is allowed once a runner enters the starting corral.
Course and Amenities
The course consists of 100% dirt trails and ranch roads with an elevation gain and loss of approximately 332 feet per loop. One central aid station at the camp area provides water, ice, fruit, and hot food such as grilled cheese and soup.
The venue at Smith Ranch offers:
- Large flat camping areas (nightly vehicle fees apply).
- Portable restrooms and a community oak BBQ pit.
- A group campfire held daily at dusk.
Participant Items
