About the race
The event brings two races together in Willis, Texas: a community-focused Family 5K and the Last Man Standing Ultra. Both races use a paved neighborhood course with rolling hills and views of Lake Conroe and include water stations along the route and at the finish.
The Family 5K covers 3.1 miles (5K). It is open to runners and walkers of all ages with no minimum pace requirement. Every registered participant who completes the full course receives a finisher medal. Bonus awards are given to the first, second, and third overall finishers. Race shirts are not included with Family 5K registration but may be purchased separately. Children must be registered; participants ages 12 and under receive a discounted registration price.
The Last Man Standing Ultra is an endurance format on the same 5K loop. Runners must complete a 5K loop every 50 minutes to remain eligible. There is no predetermined number of loops; the event continues until only one eligible runner remains. Every registered participant who completes at least one full loop receives a completion medal, and an exclusive race shirt is included with Last Man Standing Ultra registration. Runners may use remaining time between loops for rest, food, hydration, or basic crew assistance, but they may not start the next loop early and face elimination for failing to meet timing or course rules.
The day also features food trucks, a local vendor market, a large inflatable bounce house, pictures with Santa, and family friendly activities. The event supports a long-term community project to develop a multi-sport facility in Willis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
