Laps For Love Backyard Ultra, Wichita KS
The Laps For Love Backyard Ultra is a community-focused endurance event held at Sedgwick County Park in Wichita, KS, with the start and finish near the Plum Shelter area. The race follows the Backyard Ultra format: runners complete a loop each hour, must finish the loop within the hour to continue, and are eliminated if they fail to start the next loop on time. The event has no preset distance or time limit; the race continues until only one runner completes a full loop alone.
The course is a paved path with minimal elevation change and uses a loop of approximately 4.167 miles. Registered runners may have an opportunity to preview course options in advance. Crews are allowed at the start/finish area; crews should bring their own tents, chairs, coolers, and supplies. Pacers are not allowed.
A main aid station at the start/finish will provide water, light snacks, and Ultraverse Supplements Proxima C, with solid food added as the race progresses and other items while supplies last. Runners are expected to bring personal nutrition and supplies.
This event donates $100 from every race registration to Family Promise of Greater Wichita to support emergency shelter, case management and housing stability programs, rental assistance, and long-term independence support.
