Laps For Love Backyard Ultra
Laps For Love Backyard Ultra is a community-focused Backyard Ultra held in Wichita, KS at Sedgwick County Park near the Plum Shelter area. The event uses a repeatable loop format on a paved course with minimal elevation change, measured at 4.167-mile per loop.
The race follows the traditional Backyard Ultra rules: a new loop begins each hour and runners must complete the loop within that hour to continue. Remaining time between loops may be used to rest, refuel, visit the restroom, and reset. Failure to start the next loop on time results in elimination and the event continues until only one runner completes a final solo loop.
Participants are responsible for their own nutrition and supplies. Crews are allowed at the start and finish area and may set up tents or chairs; pacers are not permitted. A stocked main aid station at the start/finish will offer water, electrolytes, Ultraverse Supplements Proxima C, and simple hot food options as the race progresses while supplies last.
All runners who complete at least one loop receive a finisher item. Runners who register before the t-shirt deadline receive a race t-shirt. $100 from every registration is donated to Family Promise of Greater Wichita to support emergency shelter, case management and housing stability programs, and rental assistance.
