Lap the Lake - Melvern, KS
Lap the Lake is a community-focused gravel and pavement event held at Melvern Lake Marina in Melvern, Kansas on October 10, 2026. The event presents multiple route choices around the lake, pairing rolling hills and shoreline views with a mix of gravel, pavement, and prairie trail segments.
Routes include long gravel sections and punchy climbs as well as smoother pavement miles. Some courses pass through an old railroad tunnel and follow shoreline trails that offer open lake views. The event describes a mixed field of participants, from experienced riders and runners to first-time participants, and notes support for local partnerships and community giving tied to the event.
Multiple event options are offered, with separate registration and fees for each. One option is a T-shirt only purchase. A ruck challenge is available as a standalone or add-on and requires a minimum 10 lb vest and a GPS route.
