Lakers Sports and Social 10K Charity Run : Avondale Forest Park
The Lakers Sports and Social Annual 10K Charity Run takes place on 19 September 2026 at Avondale Forest Park in Rathdrum, County Wicklow. The event is a trail run that follows the same course used by the local Parkrun and uses a 5 km loop completed twice to make a 10 km route.
The course includes the white Multi Access Route and part of the dark orange Cairn Walk. The route will be marshalled and volunteers will direct participants along any route changes. A water station will be located by the start line and is passed multiple times during the event; participants may bring refillable bottles for volunteers to fill.
Parking is available at Avondale with gate access instructions to quote Lakers to the attendant or intercom. Volunteers will direct vehicles from the car parks to the orientation room at the Old Avondale Reception where registration takes place.
There are running and walking options for the 10 km distance. Registration fee is €35. After the event there will be complimentary refreshments and awards at the prizegiving; the Avondale Park café and restaurant are also available for those who wish to purchase additional food or specialty drinks.
