Lake Vista Lunatics Run
Lake Vista Lunatics Run is set for November 8, 2026 at Deam Lake SRA in Borden, IN. The event offers timed endurance options plus a single lap fun run on a marked trail loop.
- 12 Hour endurance
- 6 Hour endurance
- Fun Run one lap (4.167 miles)
The lap is 4.167 miles with a summit that reaches about 25 to 30 percent grade. The course includes creek crossings that can usually be hopped, occasional downed trees, and rooty and rocky technical sections toward the top, followed by a downhill on the far side.
Runners complete the marked lap and return to the crew area or start line to top off water bottles and nutrition. At the top of each subsequent hour runners start another lap and this pattern continues for the chosen 6 or 12 hour duration. The event is not a last man standing format; total time for all laps is calculated and the fastest overall pace with no missed laps determines the winner.
Participants are expected to bring their own nutrition and hydration; organizers will have some electrolytes and backup nutrition available. Registration is limited to fewer than 50 spots before waitlisting. A finisher medal and prizes for top male and female endurance champions are offered and a Lake Vista baseball cap is included with registration. The site is a shared DNR area and attendance is managed to limit traffic. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
