Lake Rhodhiss Trailfest : October 10, 2026
Lake Rhodhiss Trailfest in Valdese, NC is organized by Friends of the Valdese Rec and is scheduled for October 10, 2026. The format for 2026 replaces previous 5K, 10K, 10M and fun run options with timed endurance events that run on a roughly 3 mile loop.
Participants compete in one of three timed events:
- LRT 12 Hour
- LRT 6 Hour
- LRT 3 Hour
The loop includes about two miles of trail and roughly one mile of crushed cinder greenway. The main objective for many entrants is to cover as many miles as possible during their chosen time window, while others may register with a target distance in mind. The event notes that the format allows participants to pace toward set distances, for example using the six hour or 12 hour option to reach a 50K goal.
Lake Rhodhiss Trailfest serves as the kickoff event for Great State Trail Day the following weekend. There will be space for 10x10 tents or tables at the start/finish area, an assortment of food and beverages during the races, and organizers expect occasional live music on the pavilion stage.
