Lake Murray Endurance Run
The Lake Murray Endurance Run is held annually in late October at Lake Murray State Park near Ardmore, Oklahoma. The event offers multiple trail distances that start and finish at Tipps Point Campground.
- 100 Mile
- 100K
- 50K
- 25K
- 5 Mile
Lake Murray State Park covers about 12,500 acres and includes over 30 miles of marked trails through forested rolling hills. Trail terrain ranges from simple, flat sections to moderately difficult stretches with rocks and roots. Mobile service in the park is generally good but there are locations where coverage can drop.
This is a cupless race; participants must carry their own hydration device. Aid stations provide water, Gatorade, and a variety of food items and are spaced between 4.7 and 6.7 miles apart. The 5 Mile event does not have an aid station. Drop bags are allowed only for the 100 Mile and 100K at the Start/Finish and at Buzzards Roost with size and weight limits for volunteers.
Time limits apply: runners have 32 hours for the 100 Mile and 27 hours for the 100K, with intermediate cutoffs on course. Pacers are allowed for the 100 Mile and 100K only, and pacer exchanges are limited to Tipps Point and Buzzards Roost aid stations; unregistered pacers in other distances may cause disqualification.
Finisher buckles are awarded for the 100 Mile and 100K under their time limits, while the 50K, 25K and 5 Mile receive finisher medals. Prizes are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to masters division finishers aged 40 and over. Race shirts are provided to registered participants and are guaranteed for registrations made at least 14 days before the event. Lodging options include a lodge, cabins, RV sites and primitive camping within Lake Murray State Park; car and tent camping arranged through the organizers carries a nominal nightly fee.
Registration changes follow a credit policy: cancellations more than 30 days before the event receive full credit toward another event, cancellations between 30 and 14 days receive 50 percent credit, and no refunds or transfers are allowed within two weeks of race day. Bib transfers are permitted up to two weeks prior when the race is not sold out and a transfer fee applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
