About the race

LADYCAT ULTRA is a timed endurance race held in Mena, Arkansas. The event runs for up to twelve hours during which runners must complete a set loop once each hour. Each round consists of two loops that together total 3.22 miles; the first loop travels through a cottage area and the second bypasses the cottages following the main course route.

Runners must complete each 3.22 mile lap within the hour to remain in the event. If a runner fails to finish a lap before the hourly cutoff they are removed from the competition. Competitors who complete eleven rounds advance to a final twelfth round where the remaining runners race head to head to determine the overall winner.

The course follows a mix of paved roads with a short section on dirt road. The format requires pacing, rest and refueling between rounds, and repeated starts each hour. As the event progresses, recovery time typically becomes harder to use effectively and fatigue can affect performance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
