Kunanyi Mountain Run 2027 : Nipaluna / Hobart, Lutruwita / Tasmania
Kunanyi Mountain Run is a multi-day trail and mountain running festival held in Nipaluna / Hobart in March 2027. The event is the host for the combined Australian Mountain and Trail Running Championships (AMTRC2027) and includes a mix of national championship races and community events.
The program offers a wide range of race distances and formats, from short foothill runs and kids races to long trail and mountain races. A new 80 km Ultra is included for 2027 and is designated as the Australian Long Trail Championship event. Other championship events include the Vertical Kilometre, the Alpine Marathon, and Classic Up/Down competitions.
Additional activities run around the race weekend, including training runs held in January, a social run in March, guided cultural mountain walks, and kids runs for ages 5 to under 15. Race services listed for many events include aid stations, marked courses, first aid and medical support, drop bag service, on-course photos, and live results tracking. The event acknowledges the Palawa people as the traditional owners of the land and includes cultural elements such as smoking ceremonies and guided walks.
