About the race
Kunanyi Mountain Run is a multi-day trail and mountain running festival held in Nipaluna / Hobart, Lutruwita / Tasmania from 19 to 21 March 2027. The event hosts the combined Australian Mountain and Trail Running Championships (AMTRC2027) alongside community races, cultural activities and training sessions.
The 2027 program includes a new 80 km Ultra that climbs and descends almost 4,785 m, plus a range of other races and activities. The festival offers training runs in January, guided cultural mountain walks, kids runs for ages 5 to under 15, and a scholarships program to support emerging trail runners.
Event services and inclusions for many races include aid stations stocked with food and hydration, fully marked courses, first aid and professional medical support, on-course photos, drop bag service, professional timing, live results and tracking, and submission of results to ITRA and UTMB. Registrations no longer require qualifying runs, but participants are asked to read course descriptions and self-assess their skills.
