Kunanyi Mountain Run : Nipaluna / Hobart, Lutruwita / Tasmania
Kunanyi Mountain Run is a multi-day trail and mountain running festival held 19–21 March 2027 in Nipaluna / Hobart, Lutruwita / Tasmania. The 2027 program includes the first combined Australian Mountain and Trail Running Championships and a new 80 km Ultra designated as the Australian Long Trail Championship event. The event is presented by Salomon.
Race categories and distances include:
- 80 km Ultra - Australian Long Trail Championship event
- 66 km Ultra Solo and Team Relay
- 46 km Alpine Marathon - Australian Short Trail Championship event
- 25 km Mountain Run and Mountain Walk
- 14 km Foothills - Australian Mountain Running Classic Championship (Open)
- 9 km Foothills - U20 Classic Up and Downhill
- 5 km Foothills
- Kids runs for ages 5 to under 15
Some races require qualifying performances. The Ultra Solo and Alpine Marathon require verified trail or road race results from recent years and candidate qualifiers are assessed by the event team.
Registrations open in August 2026. Registrations include race entry, a unique finishers medal and merch, course marking, professional timing and live results, aid stations for selected races, drop bags, on-course photos, first aid and event medical support, and access to the Runhub and many cultural activities. The Palawa people are acknowledged as the traditional owners of the land and are welcomed in the event material. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
