Spartan Trail Kojšovská Hoľa
Kojšovská Hoľa is a mountain trail running event located in the Volovské vrchy mountains in Slovakia. Scheduled for the spring season in April, the race takes place at an average altitude of 1,250 meters. The environment features a mix of forest paths and open meadows characteristic of the high-altitude terrain in this region.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 10 km individual trail race with a 4-hour cutoff time.
- 50 km individual ultra trail race with a 10-hour cutoff time.
The event is classified as a hard mountain trail and does not include obstacles, focusing strictly on trail running endurance. The average temperature during this period is approximately 10ºC (50ºF). Runners are required to carry mandatory equipment, which varies depending on the chosen distance. Failure to complete the course within the specified cutoff times results in a DNF status, and participants will not receive a finisher medal or shirt.
The race location is accessible via Bratislava Airport (BTS) or Vienna International Airport (VIE). Registration is open to individuals, with pricing tiers based on the date of entry. The course is designed to showcase the natural scenery of the Slovakian mountains, providing views across the Volovské vrchy range. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
