Keynsham Dandy
Keynsham Dandy is a 12.5 miles trail race held on 18 October 2026 with race headquarters at The New Inn, 90 Bath Hill, Keynsham. The event is organised by Town and Country Harriers (TACH) and follows the revived Compton Dandy route through countryside between Bath and Bristol.
The course runs alongside rivers, through rolling agricultural land and woods, and includes at least two streams. The route can be muddy and has slip and trip hazards; runners are asked to take care around livestock and to walk if passing near cattle. Notable course features include two stream crossings where time penalties apply if runners do not run through them: 10 minutes at Woolard and 5 minutes at Tucking Mill.
Entries are limited to a maximum of 200 competitors, including up to 40 canicross places. Canicross runners must use a CaniX regulation waistbelt, keep dogs on a lead, have public liability insurance for the dog, and may run with one dog per competitor. The minimum age is 18. There are no entries on the day.
Event support includes over 30 marshals, First Aid medics, two water stations on course and one at the finish, and a bag drop with no liability accepted. Every finisher receives a medal and prizes are awarded across Open and Female categories, age groups, canicross, and a club team prize. Half of any event surplus will be donated to the Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
