About the race
The Juniata Valley Trail Run takes place on October 10, 2026, at 13309 Rte 35 S, Mifflin, PA 17058. The course runs at the foot of Shade Mountain through wooded areas and open fields.
The trail gains approximately 700 feet of elevation and includes long steady climbs and descents. Surfaces include gravel, grass, and field trails. A one mile walking route shares the first part of the course with the 5K along a wide gravel lane through the woods.

Two fuel stations with water and Gatorade are positioned near mile 1 and mile 2. Brunch, snacks, and drinks are provided for participants and their families. Age-group awards are offered in the following categories: 0-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, and 56+. Overall male and female winners receive cash prizes of $100 and $50 respectively.
Pricing listed for event options includes a $30 fee for the 5K, $20 for the 1 mile walk, and no fee for the Kids Fun Run. Students in grades K-12 are sponsored by Fisher Brother Builders and may register under the student option to have the 5K fee covered.
