Joshua Tree Half Marathon
The Joshua Tree Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile night race through the Mojave Desert near Joshua Tree National Park on November 7, 2026. The course is a loop of mostly dirt roads and trails with sections of loose and deep sand and an elevation gain of about 589 ft. A four hour course cutoff is enforced.
Because the event takes place after dark, a headlamp or flashlight is required and reflective gear is advised. The course is marked, and participants are expected to follow directions, stay on course, and keep left where required for traffic. Aid stations provide water and electrolyte drink from coolers, but the event is cup free; runners should bring a reusable bottle, a collapsible cup, or a hydration pack.
Expo, bib pickup, start line, and finish line are located at RESET Hotel, which also serves as the event basecamp and lodging partner. Parking is provided in designated areas with drop off instructions for those who do not remain with parked vehicles. Place medals are awarded for top finishers in overall and Masters categories and for top five in standard age groups; all finishers receive a finisher medal. Live results and race photos are published online after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
