Jorgeada de Aragón
The Jorgeada de Aragón is a multi-distance walking and running event organized by Os Andarines de Aragón to celebrate San Jorge, the patron saint of the region. The event features a variety of routes connecting Zaragoza and Huesca, along with several shorter options. The primary route spans a distance of 80 km, starting at the Aljafería Palace in Zaragoza and finishing in Huesca.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 80 km (Zaragoza to Huesca)
- 50 km (Zuera to Huesca)
- 27.5 km (San Jorge to Huesca)
- 18 km (Almudévar to Huesca)
- 10 km (Zaragoza to San Juan, including options for adults and children)
The organization provides extensive support for participants, including 14 aid stations offering water, sweets, and full meals such as dinner, breakfast, and lunch. Additional services include a bus service, backpack transport, ambulance support, and physical therapy services at the finish line. All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt, and those completing the longer routes of 50 km and 80 km are eligible for prize draws for sports equipment. The event is part of the Liga Ibérica de Senderismo FEDME. Registration is open to anyone who considers themselves capable of completing their chosen distance, with a general limit of 1,000 participants.
