The Joplin RoadRunners present a community running event on October 25, 2026 in Carthage, Missouri. Races start and finish at the Leggett & Platt front parking lot and run almost entirely on Leggett Road and the Ruby Jack trail.
Event distances include:
- 1 Mile (half-mile out-and-back, participation awards only)
- 2 Mile (one-mile out-and-back, chip timed)
- 8K (5 Mile) (2.5-mile out-and-back, chip timed)
- 10 Mile (two loops on the 5M course, chip timed)
- Combination entries and a virtual run option
Prizes include pumpkins decorated by children at the Early Learning Center, with participation pumpkins for the first 100 finishers and larger prize pumpkins for top clock-times in the 2M, 8K and 10M races. The 10M serves as the RRCA State Championship at this distance; RRCA medals are awarded to male and female overall and in 40+, 50+ and 60+ categories. Cash awards are listed for overall and masters winners.
Participants receive a certified time for certified distances and may qualify for state listings. Age-group categories are specified for each race and age-graded awards are presented. The course is described as flat, fast and shaded this time of year. Dogs and strollers are permitted in the 1M and 2M only, and virtual registrants receive a mailed T-shirt and participation medal.
