John Wayne Grit Series - Jackson Hole
The John Wayne Grit Series event takes place at Turpin Meadow Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on August 22, 2026. The course runs through forested terrain in the Bridger-Teton National Forest and follows rugged dirt roads and single track trails with views of the Grand Tetons and the Buffalo Fork River. The event benefits the John Wayne Cancer Foundation and carries a fundraising goal of $80,000. Cancer survivors who register receive a complimentary yellow bandana at packet pickup while supplies last.

Packet pickup is located at Red Cliffs Lodge, where parking is provided and shuttles transport participants to the start area. The event is cup less; aid stations will not use disposable cups so participants should bring a hydration pack or a handheld bottle with a large opening for refilling. Finishers receive a John Wayne Grit Series shirt and a finisher mug. Bear spray is mandatory for the course and cannot be transported on commercial flights; participants may buy or rent bear spray in Jackson, WY at the airport kiosk, local sporting goods stores or grocery stores. Photographers and videographers will capture images along the course and at the start and finish. Pacing and muling are not allowed and may result in disqualification.
