Jay's Aim Family Colour Run at Bude RFC
This fun run is organised by Jay's Aim in conjunction with Bude Rugby Football Club and offers two short cross-country courses on the main rugby pitch and the training pitch. Entrants choose between:
- 1.5 km course with five sponsored colour stations.
- 3 km course with five sponsored colour stations.
At each colour station participants are doused in coloured holi powders. The powder is made mainly from corn starch and is described as environmentally friendly. Competitors are asked to wear white or old clothes, and sunglasses or glasses are strongly recommended; a small number of sunglasses will be available to buy on the day. The Bank Bude is the headline sponsor and is located beside the River Neet next to Bude RFC. The colour stations are sponsored by Wooda Farm Holiday Park, Trewin Design Architects, Generation Solar, Corfloors, Metherell Gard and Clark Construction.
Registration takes place on the day at the Jay's Aim gazebos beside the main pitch; competitors must register before competing to collect a run number and to complete emergency contact information. The rugby club bar will be open with snacks and hot and cold drinks available to purchase, and a BBQ will operate after the run with proceeds going to Jay's Aim. Toilets and changing rooms are available. Food and drink are not included in the ticket price.
A pre-run warm up to music will be provided. The event is marshalled, fully insured and has medical cover provided by Omega Medical, with several defibrillators positioned around the course. Competitors must be medically fit to enter; the organisers encourage cardiac screening before participation. Ticket prices are Adult £11 and Junior £9 (juniors aged 4 to 18) and include a finishers medal and run number. Only children aged 4 years and above may take part; children under 6 must be accompanied throughout the course by a participating adult, with each adult responsible for no more than five such children.
