Hard Times 100
Hard Times 100 is an endurance trail event based at the Love Civic Center in Paris, Texas, held along the North East Texas Trail (NETT). The event offers multiple distances on mixed surfaces including dirt, gravel, paved trails, roads, and sidewalks.
Distances:
- 50K (actual distance listed as 32.8 miles)
- 100K (listed as 68.7 miles)
- 100M
- 100K RUCK
The course is described as generally flat with elevation gain totals stated as 1000 ft for the 100K and 2000 ft for the 100M. Historic average temperatures for the date are given as 33 to 53 degrees.
Logistics and mandatory equipment are specified: all participants must carry a headlamp and a personal water carrying system; drop bags are allowed to aid stations but not to water-only stations. Aid stations and water stations are placed along the courses; aid stations provide hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. Shuttle transport to the 100K and 100M start area is available; participants may also drive to the start and have crew support along the course. Ruck weight rules apply for the 100K Ruck: 30 lb for participants over 150 lb, 20 lb for participants under 150 lb.
