About the race

The 12th Annual Hustle Up The Hill for the Homeless is a 30 minute run and walk event at Mt. Hoy in Blackwell Forest Preserve, Warrenville, Illinois, taking place on September 26, 2026. Participants complete repeated round trips up and down Mt. Hoy; each round trip is approximately 0.3 miles with a variable incline, and the goal is to record how many laps are finished in the allotted 30 minutes.

All event proceeds are designated to house a homeless family for two years in partnership with Bridge Communities. Bridge Communities provides free transitional housing to 131 families each year and supports participants through a two year program focused on budgeting, saving, employment, nutrition, debt reduction, education and job search, with the aim of achieving long term housing stability such as Section 8 or other affordable housing.

Entry fees are stated as $30 per person, $25 per person for teams of four or more, and $35 for race day registration. Participants may run solo or form teams. Mt. Hoy rises to 836 feet above sea level and offers panoramic views of the western suburbs; the Chicago skyline can be visible in clear conditions. T shirts and gourmet coffee are provided at the finish. The event has supported multiple families through prior editions, and past event photos and videos are maintained in event galleries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
